Mental Heath Help
Get Help!
Please consider getting help if you think you may be suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar or any mental illness. There are people who can help you.
Suicide seems to be at an all-time high and there is no reason for it because there are people who devote their entire lives to helping to prevent that.
I know how hard it can be, I have considered it and I also had a relative who decided to end it.
The pain you leave behind to those who love you is unbearable and it lasts forever, for them.
Know this, there are people who love you, even if you don’t believe it.
This is a piece of my story…
I have suffered from mental health issues for most of my life, mainly anxiety and depression. I wasn’t officially diagnosed until I was in my late 20’s.
I began to hurt myself. I would hit myself in the head with my hairbrush over and over again as I looked in the mirror, you couldn’t see the bruises and lumps that way. I had heard of “cutting” but told myself what I was doing was different (it wasn’t).
One day, I had the brush that I used to ease my pain but this time I missed and ended up with a huge bruise on my forehead, right in plain sight.I had to lie about how I got it.
I had 2 young children I had to think about, so I got help.
I later found out that my grandmother had been hospitalized several times, for what they called “a nervous breakdown”.
What made it worse is that no one in my family talked about it, not even my grandma, she suffered in silence her whole life.
I didn’t want that for myself or my children. I still fight the day to day battle and yes, sometimes I lose, but I know I can win the war.
